Medicaid Billing

School Districts participating in this program are reimbursed by a federal program known as Medicaid Administrative Claiming (or MAC).

Medicaid Administrative Claiming (MAC) uses "time sampling" methodology to survey educational staff. The MAC program provides a way of reimbursing K-12 districts for claimable work already being performed by these staff members.

MAC is different and separate from the "Fee for Service" or "School Based Health Services" program administered by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA).

SOESD is the regional administrator of the MAC program for districts in Jackson, Josephine, and Klamath counties. For more information about the program, contact Mark Earnest, SOESD Medicaid Specialist, at 541-245-5197 or via email at mark_earnest@soesd.k12.or.us
