Whales, Urchins and Otters—Oh My!
Kelly Bryant, Library Materials Specialist
The SOESD Media Materials Library has recently acquired four multimedia kits from the Oregon Coast Aquarium. These kits were developed by the education staff at the aquarium and have been circulated throughout the state from the aquarium. In order to better serve students, we are lucky to have four of these kits just for the Southern Oregon ESD service area. Currently, the SOESD is the only ESD in the state which is circulating these wonderful teaching materials.
|Look out for the great kits at the SOESD!|
The curriculum for these kits has been developed for the K-5 crowd, however, teachers of older students might find that they can adapt some of the activities and lessons for their classes.
The kits are:
Whale Kit (K.266)
Shark Kit (K.267)
Seal, Sea Lion and Sea Otter Kit (K.268)
Invertebrate Kit (K.269)
Each contain a comprehensive curriculum, as well as posters, books, videos, models of the bone structure or other body parts of the animals, activities, plush stuffed animals and a handy dandy case to carry them.
