Staff and Services
Staff of the Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing serve students in 13 districts, over 100 buildings, 3,500 mainstream teachers and 49,579 students in Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, Lake, Douglas and Modoc counties. PDHH staff include itinerant and resource teachers, interpreters, an audiologist, administrators, and support staff.
Teachers of the Deaf, Interpreters and support staff, working closely with local school district staff, provide varied services at schools where Deaf/HH students are fully included in the regular curriculum. Services can include intinerant specially designed instruction, faculty support, audiology, FM support, interpreting, real time transcription, and resource services.
The DHH program strives to ensure success for all DHH students by empowering each child to strive for their own learning, independence, and navigation of the hearing world.
