Table Rocks Environmental Education Program

Age Group Served: Preschool – 12th Grade

Type of Program: Natural and cultural resource education

Student groups get instruction at the Table Rocks.
guided hikes with BLM Park Rangers on Upper and Lower Table Rocks. We welcome groups with 10 individuals or more. Program has accompanying school standard based curriculum available throughout the year housed in school libraries and the ESD library. We also include a classroom presentation aimed at helping teachers and students prepare for their hike.

Subjects Addressed:  Curriculum can be catered to teacher’s needs: botany, ethno-botany, noxious weeds, fire ecology, geology, Native American history and culture, forest ecology, plant and animal adaptations, outdoor ethics, and wildlife.

Seasons/Months Program is Available: Guided hikes occur April 1st through mid-June. Classroom presentations begin in March.

Availability of Program: This program fills to capacity every year. We have room for over 4,500 students. Hike sign-ups are on a first-come-first-serve basis. Registration forms are available on our website during the beginning of February.

Cost: Free

Geographic Area Served: Anyone from anywhere
